...How cruel of you, Bird...
The words were embedded into her head. He did not force her to be with him, but did lightly guide her to an area where she did not need to be noticed by others. He was well recognized, admired by girls far more put together than she. What was his attachment? His attachment to her. He always kept a heavy watch on her before they arrived there, told her he would make her love him again. What happened?
“Hey, do you – do you need anything?” She looked to the door to see Hitta standing there, still in her dress. Her hair on the other hand, was not in the same condition. Her makeup as well.
“Hitta, why are you still dressed? The ball was done with about two hours ago.”
“Me? Look at you.”
“I was just thinking too much. You have been drinking... I remembered a little more about you a few nights ago. You like to be by yourself when the full moon nears. And you drink when something really upsets you. A boy told me that once, right?”
“Xavier... That asshole. He's lucky – that he's not here. Kick his ass. So you sure you don't need nothing?”
“I'm sure. But, you do. What happened?” She watched her close the door to her room and sit on her bed with her.
“We yelled at each other like always – but this time I – tried hitting him again.”
“Hitta nooo. What did he do?” she asked, eyes wide open.
“He stopped me, but then he – got angry, with himself I guess. And the – he, kissed me.”
“Oh... well, wow.. I didn't know..”
“Naw, it was from spite. He feels nothing for me. But – he forced it – I felt, his – he stuck his tongue in my mouth!” she put her head in her arms at this.
“Hitta, was this your first experience with a male in that way?”
“I am nearly – 400 years old but....yeah...”
“Did it scare you?”
“I'll be honest to you,” she lifted her head looking forward. “A little it did. These people, they are powerful, more than even you in your highest. He – was strong. I couldn't move, he did this,” she pointed to her hair, the pins scattered in her long hair. “It scared me yes, but...I liked it. Does that make me strange?”
“No. Different people, like different things. But, you should speak to him.”
“Work things out. If not, every time you see each other, it will not feel right. And we are in their world as you said.” She watched her keep quiet for a while.
“You doubt why he loves you so, child. But if you heard yourself talk – you would know.” She stood up and walked to the door. “So, don't need anything?”
“I am sure, thank you.”
“I'll come later then.” She left, quite gracious for her mental state. She lied on her bed, flushed from what Hitta had told her.
She asked someone to give a note to him.
Please come see me, it is really important that we speak.
She sat in her bed, staring at her hands. She was nervous, but stowed away the feelings where she wouldn't think about them. Stop feeling this way, she'd think, it's stupid. She heard a knock on her door and she went to open it a crack. His red eyes were the first thing to appear. Everything was dark after all.
“What is it, Nadia.”
“Get in here. Then we'll talk.” She opened the door for him to enter.
“I don't think it is right -”
“I don't care.”
He sighed impatiently, walking into her room.
“We need to talk,” she said choking back her tears as she closed the door.
“I don't see anything we need to speak of. If it is of what happened I told you there is nothing to-”
“Yes there is! Don't go around kissing people you do not love!” she yelled. He looked to her surprised. “You will hurt, and damage – many.”
“You are drunk.”
“And you - need to listen to me.” She walked over to him. “You are king, and you rule here. But that does not mean you have a right to hurt me, or what I feel. You don't like me, tell me! I will gladly leave if you want me to.” She scratched her face turning away from him.
“Did what I do, hurt you, Miss Nadia?”
“You always look at me like you can't – stand me!” she turned to him, black streaks down from her eyes. “You,” she pointed at him directly, “are very attractive, like this.” She watched his eyes look away and back to her in reaction. “You only need to keep your mouth shut and you'll find yourself a mate. From what you showed me – you know what you're doing.”
She looked down. “You aren't a monster. I know what that feels like and trust me – you have it easy. I would have been happy to be able to intimidate people. It can be lonely though, either way. I was just mad, because – well you healed her, in such a way. Plus she likes being bit by him she's like a masochist or something I don't know at least from before her memory was corrupted but I guess it was okay because she was weak because of it but still....” She could tell she had spoken to quickly from her lack of breath. She looked up to find him walking right in front of her, and stepped back only to be pinned to the wall again but by her neck. “Oh God,” she uttered quietly, as she put her hands around the one he held to her. Her eyes looked up to his, who focused on her intensely.
“But -” She gasped, remaining still, her breath held and tears still wet as she looked ahead. His face was near her neck, his breath hot as he picked up her scent.
“You have never been taken by a male have you...?” She blushed madly unable to answer. “You smell pure within. And I feel it on your skin.” She was frozen where she was, for she knew if she moved he would not be happy.
“Why are you doing this?” she asked panicked.
“You were jealous.”
“Yes.” She cried quietly. She watched him retreat himself so that his face was close to hers.
“It hurts your pride, doesn't it?” She looked in his eyes unsteadily as he tilted her head to him in a kiss's stance. “I need to go somewhere tomorrow. You will accompany me.” He let her go, and left her room quietly.
“What, the hell.” she whispered. She had never been so confused.
